Paypal today named six members to include its newly founded crypto advisory board. This Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies (BCDC) advisory council will help guide PayPal in its quest to develop a financial ecosystem that works for all.
Intending to upscale and offer better support for crypto-related products, the company saw wise to outsource consultancy from field giants. The six-member of the advisory council include,
- Peter Briger Jr – CEO of Fortress Investment Group
- Chris Brummer – Georgetown Law professor
- Shafi Goldwasser – Director at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at the University(California)
- Timothy Massad – Former Assistant Secretary; Treasury for Financial Stability
- Neha Narula – Director of the Digital Currency Initiative; MIT Media Lab
- Antoinette Schoar – Finance Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Sloan School of Management
The members listed consist of leading experts in cryptography, economics, law, and capital markets.
An Appropriate Step Ahead?
PayPal remains among the lead players in the crypto business. Even as digital currencies continue to revolutionize everything we know about money, Paypal remains up there in the alley. Particularly because of the nature of their business, it has to get it right.
The multinational financial technology company developed several crypto-related services for its product offerings over the last year. One of the latest ventures was launched in August to automatically enable Venmo cardholders to buy crypto.
More companies similar to PayPal are seeking counsel on how to maximize the crypto market. In November last year, Twitter set apart a task force team to concentrate on digital assets. Under their CEO, Jack Dorsey, and team leader Tess Rinearson, they’re set out to strategize the future of crypto at and on Twitter.
