Why Portugal

For those who may not be aware, Portugal is one of the countries among the Europen Nations that is crypto friendly due to its tax laws. It is actually therefore not such a big surprise that the brand chose Portugal to launch the crypto payments system.

According to the head of marketing at Mi Store Portugal, Pedro Maia, he believes Xiaomi is a disruptive and innovative brand always out to be step ahead. True to these claims, true technology fans can now make purchases with the most technological money.

Crypto payments pose a lot of benefits over traditional conventional payment methods in terms of low fees, irreversible payments and stinger privacy for customers.

Notably, Xiaomi recently surpassed smartphone giant Apple as the second largest mobile phones manufacturer in smartphone market in the second quarter of 2021. This is a major milestone that the company can boast on after accomplishing by living true to their motto; ‘innovation to everyone.’

Solid Competitive Advantage

This new incentive by Xiaomi will most undoubtedly popularize the electronics brand globally with this big step.

Xiaomi is not the first brand to launch crypto in their systems. Top smartphone retailer, Samsung, launched a blockchain wallet earlier in 2019 but its retail stores hve yet to accept cryptocurrecies.
