To promote Bitcoin adoption beyond its walls, El Salvador is looking to establish a Bitcoin embassy in Texas.
The plan was disclosed by the El Salvador ambassador on Twitter Tuesday, February 14, according to the ambassador, she has met with Texas Deputy Secretary of State Joe Esparza to discuss the plan.
Among countries of the world, El Salvador is the first to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender in the country back in 2021. Since the move, there have been several criticisms from entities like the IMF, and World Bank.
In addition to Bitcoin adoption, the country has also bought Bitcoin, although the country is yet to reveal many details about the transaction.
