Bitcoin ETFs log a sixth straight inflow day

Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $203.1M on July 21, per our MCP Insights ETF data, a sixth consecutive day of net inflows. The read is constructive, but the historical edge behind a signal like this sits near a coin flip, so the honest posture is patient rather than aggressive.

The rest of the board leaned the same way. Per the MCP Insider feed, Ether products added $37.47M, XRP vehicles $5.66M, and Solana products $5.83M on the day, with reported assets of $10.48B, $1.06B, and $912.74M respectively.

You can watch the daily prints on our Bitcoin ETF flow tracker, the source of the $203.1M figure and the six-day streak.

The base rate: barely better than a coin flip

Here is the part the headline skips. In roughly 11 of 22 effective comparable MCP ETF-tide readings since April 9, 2024, price resolved higher over the following ten trading days, an up-rate near 51%. That is an edge, but a thin one.

The five-day flow total sits at $749.3M and cumulative net inflows have reached $51.8B since launch, per the same MCP ETF data. Flows and price are aligned rather than diverging: Bitcoin is up about 3.9% over the trailing five sessions, so the tape is not fighting the money.

What makes this instance different

Sentiment, mostly. Our Crypto Fear and Greed Index reads 33, still fear territory even after an eight-point climb, which means this inflow streak is being bought into caution rather than euphoria.

The leverage picture is calm. The MCP squeeze gauge sits at 7 and falling, so the crowded side is nowhere near a forced unwind, while cycle-top risk reads 53: an estimated coin flip on a 25% drawdown inside 90 days.

None of that screams a top, and none of it confirms continuation. For the wider positioning backdrop, our MCP Insights tools track the same open-interest flush odds, now 53.

Risk posture

Constructive but unconvinced. A 51% base rate on inflow tides, fear-territory sentiment, and calm leverage argue for a defensive-to-neutral stance: no rush, size small, let the streak prove itself. The highest-probability trade here may be no trade at all until the flow trend extends with conviction or breaks.

This is market analysis and education, not financial advice. The read is invalidated if the six-day inflow streak flips to net outflows, resetting the MCP ETF-tide streak to ‘out’, while the five-day flow total turns negative. Alternative scenario: inflows accelerate and Fear and Greed climbs out of fear, which would upgrade the tide from a coin flip toward a genuine trend.
