The SHIB army is proving to be the most relentless community online. Now, this group of Shiba Inu fans is asking fast-food chain McDonald’s to start accepting their favorite meme coin.
McDonald’s Turn to Face the Relentless SHIB Army
A Shiba Inu holder tweeted calling for SHIB payments at McDonald’s. Other firms that have caught the eye of the SHIB army know how hard it is to ignore them. Of course, McDonald’s had to respond.
McDonald’s official Twitter account responded saying they appreciate hearing the interest and will continuously evaluate the payments experience. The comment was enough for the Shiba Inu community to start preparing their coins to pay for their favorite menu at McDonald’s. There were responses of McDonald’s food menus with the Shiba Inu face on them. There were even suggestions of calling the menu McShib.
The SHIB community started a petition on Change.org for crypto exchange Robinhood to list the Dogecoin killer. The petition has gained tremendous support with over 530K signatures as of now.
Taking into account Robinhood’s moves, it is reasonable to conclude that the current call for fast-food chain McDonald’s to accept SHIB circumvents back to the plea for Robinhood to list the coins.
Here is why. At the beginning of November, Robinhood signed a deal with fast-food chain Burger King, a competitor to McDonald’s. In the partnership, Burger King’s customers on the Royal Perks loyalty program will be rewarded in crypto when they spend more than $5 on the restaurant.
The crypto rewards will be one coin from a pool of 20 bitcoin, 200 ether, and 2 million Dogecoin. The majority of the users are receiving rewards in Dogecoin and only one in 10,000 and one in 100,000 receive Ether and Bitcoin respectively
Could McDonald’s Accept SHIB?
Considering how seriously Shiba Inu is taking its role as the Dogecoin Killer, is it no wonder it is also looking for SHIB payments at McDonald’s.
However, it is worth noting that fast-food chain McDonald’s is not accepting any cryptocurrency at the moment. The likelihood of SHIB being the first crypto it accepts is quite low. Nonetheless, the SHIB community behind the meme coin believes nothing is impossible.
