Binance hacker finishes dumping seven tokens into ETH

Listen: the breakdown

Market briefing: The Binance hacker finished dumping seven tokens into 70,480 ETH, yet ETH still fell 5.4% and BTC sat near $77,031 as of 01:02 UTC. The real driver looks like broad risk-off, not one wallet.

  • Binance hacker converted UNI, ENA, PEPE, LINK, AAVE, ONDO and WLD into 70,480 ETH worth about $158.25M.
  • ETH fell 5.4% despite that inflow, while LINK dropped hardest at 9.8% under direct dump pressure.
  • Frozen stolen funds climbed to roughly $3B from $2.54B, capping how much more the hacker can sell.

The Binance hacker just finished dumping seven tokens and bought 70,480 ETH with the proceeds. Net buying, and yet ETH still fell. So what is really pulling crypto lower here?

The Binance hacker has finished the job. Over several sessions the wallet offloaded seven tokens and converted the proceeds into 70,480 ETH, worth about $158.25M. UNI, ENA, PEPE, LINK, AAVE, ONDO and WLD all went.

The numbers are precise. The hacker sold 7.02M UNI for $39.63M near $5.65. Another 217.5M ENA cleared for $33.93M around $0.16. And 7.77T PEPE moved for $31.66M at a fraction of a cent.

Here is the part worth sitting with. Swapping stolen alts into ETH is, mechanically, buying pressure on ETH. The hacker spent this week as a net buyer of Ether.

And ETH still fell. It was trading near $2,221 as of 01:02 UTC, down 5.4% on the day. A forced buyer pushed real size into the asset, and the asset dropped anyway.

That tells you most of what you need to know. The driver is not one wallet. It is a broader risk-off tape dragging majors and alts down together.

BNB fell about 7.1%. LINK fell hardest, down 9.8%. BTC itself sat near $77,031, off 4.9%. The whole board bled at once, which is rarely the signature of a single seller.

There is a counterweight. Binance reports frozen stolen funds have climbed to roughly $3B, up from $2.54B earlier. Every dollar frozen is a dollar the hacker can no longer sell, and that quietly shrinks the overhang the market has been pricing.

The irony buried inside the sell flow

Follow the flow and the macro truth falls out. The hacker turned seven alts into ETH, so the direct effect was selling in those alts and buying in Ether. If a wallet of that size can buy ETH and ETH still drops, the pressure pulling it down is bigger than any single actor.

That is the transmission mechanism worth naming. Broad risk-off is doing the heavy lifting. Liquidity across the board looks thin, thin enough that one large flow still prints across majors and alts alike.

Thin books cut both ways. They exaggerate the dump's footprint on LINK, and they let macro fear move everything at once. When BTC, ETH and BNB all slide together, the honest read is a liquidity squeeze, not a coordinated verdict on any one token.

We should be clear about what this is and is not. This is forced liquidation by a bad actor, not conviction selling from a smart participant. So it is not a smart-money signal against ETH or the alts he sold. Treat it as mechanical supply hitting a nervous market.

The frozen-funds total is the structural offset. At roughly $3B and rising, the pool of stealable, sellable coins keeps shrinking. That matters for every holder watching the overhang, because the worst-case supply the market feared is now smaller than it was a day ago.

LINK takes the most direct hit

Start with BTC, because it sets the tone. At $77,031 and down 4.9%, Bitcoin led the risk-off move lower, and when BTC leans the whole complex usually follows.

ETH is the paradox at the centre. It absorbed roughly $158.25M of forced buying from the hacker, then fell 5.4% anyway. That is the clearest evidence the sell-off is macro, not idiosyncratic, because organic demand that large would normally cushion a token, not watch it drop.

Then the alts amplify. LINK fell 9.8%, the sharpest of the majors named here. That lines up with the direct supply from this dump stacked on top of the broader drag, a double weight the others did not carry as heavily.

The rest of the list wears the same macro bruise. UNI, ENA, PEPE, AAVE, ONDO and WLD each took confirmed selling as the hacker cleared them. In a thin tape, that supply lands harder than it would in a deep one.

So the cascade runs cleanly. Risk-off hits BTC, BTC drags ETH despite the inflow, and the alts fall furthest because they carry both the macro drag and, for LINK especially, the dump itself. None of this is a bottom signal. It is distribution of forced supply into weak demand, and that keeps the near-term bias heavy until the tape steadies.

Frozen total versus fresh selling

Watch the frozen-funds number first. It climbed to about $3B from $2.54B, and if it keeps rising the hacker's remaining ammunition keeps shrinking. A steadily growing freeze is the single most constructive thread in this whole story.

Watch whether the dump is genuinely done. The brief says the wallet finished converting all seven tokens into ETH. If that holds, the direct overhang on UNI, ENA, PEPE, LINK, AAVE, ONDO and WLD is now behind the market, not ahead of it.

That matters more than it sounds. A completed liquidation removes a known seller. The tokens can then trade on macro and their own flows, without the drip of forced supply hanging over the bid.

The real confirmation sits with the majors. If BTC stabilises above the current zone near $77,031 and ETH holds around $2,221, the risk-off read eases and the alts get room to breathe. LINK bouncing off the $10.61 area would be the cleanest sign the direct dump pressure has washed through.

Invalidation is simpler. If BTC loses its footing and ETH slips back under $2,221 with conviction, the macro drag is still in charge, and the frozen-funds comfort will not save the tape on its own. For now the burden of proof sits with the buyers, not the sellers.

Reading this dump against a risk-off tape

The ParadiseTeam reads this as mechanics, not meaning. A hacker liquidating stolen coins is forced supply, so we do not treat his selling as a conviction call on ETH or the alts he dumped. The signal is in the tape's reaction, not the wallet.

And the tape reacted honestly. ETH took real buying and still fell near $2,221 as of 01:02 UTC. With BTC near $77,031 and the whole board down together, the ParadiseTeam sees broad risk-off as the dominant force, with this dump a secondary weight on LINK specifically.

So we stay risk-first. In a thin, falling market, chasing weakness is how retail gets trapped, because every small bounce can be sold into by the next wave of macro fear. We would rather see the majors hold before leaning into the alts that bled hardest.

LINK is the one to respect here. It fell 9.8% under combined macro and direct dump pressure, so any stabilisation near $10.61 tells us the forced supply has cleared. Until then, the path of least resistance stays lower.

The frozen-funds total is the counterweight we keep front of mind. At roughly $3B and climbing, the overhang is shrinking, which caps the worst case even if it does not call a bottom. We trade the confirmation, not the hope.
