Listen: the breakdown
Market briefing: XRP funds pulled in 184 million dollars even as the token fell toward 1.33, a contrarian bet against the sell-off that also hit Bitcoin, now near 81,972 dollars after a 1.6 percent bounce.
- XRP funds drew $184 million in inflows while the token dropped roughly 22.5% from its September 23 high of $1.65.
- Near $1 billion in crypto bets were liquidated as BTC, ETH and XRP slid, and BTC, ETH, SOL and HYPE funds lost almost $400 million.
- XRP broke two support levels toward $1.31 and trades near $1.33; the inflows have not yet reversed the trend.
XRP funds just absorbed $184 million in inflows while the token kept falling. Is this smart money accumulating a dip, or retail catching a falling knife?
XRP funds pulled in 184 million dollars this week. That happened while the token itself fell hard. Someone is betting against the crash with real size.
The backdrop was ugly. XRP reached 1.65 dollars on September 23. From that high it has corrected by as much as 22.5 percent. The slide accelerated after soft CPI and PPI prints, and a weaker open on US markets.
Risk-off sentiment spread fast across the whole market. Nearly one billion dollars in crypto bets were liquidated as Bitcoin, Ether and XRP all slid together. Funds tracking BTC, ETH, SOL and HYPE lost close to 400 million dollars combined on a single day.
XRP was not spared. It broke through two support levels toward 1.31 dollars and dipped below the round 1.30 figure. It now trades near 1.33.
Yet the fund flows told a different story. XRP vehicles stayed positive on the week, carried by that 184 million dollar intake. In a week of broad outflows, that is a deliberate contrarian stance, not an accident.
The reasoning is simple enough. A drop under 1.30 struck some traders as an asymmetric entry, a lot of downside already spent for limited further risk. So they added while others sold.
Here is the honest part. Those inflows have not reversed anything yet. XRP kept declining through the buying. Buying a falling asset and buying a bottom look identical until the chart decides which one it was.
How soft CPI and PPI drained risk appetite
The driver here is macro, not XRP itself. Soft CPI and PPI data landed first, and US equities opened lower behind them. That combination flipped the whole market into risk-off mode.
Macro data sets the price of risk. When prints disappoint and stocks sag, leveraged crypto is usually first to be sold. Liquidity drains from the speculative end of the curve, and XRP sits firmly at that end.
The transmission showed up as forced selling. Near one billion dollars in positions were liquidated market-wide. Liquidations are not opinions. They are margin calls, and they hit hardest wherever leverage was most crowded.
That is why the 184 million dollar inflow matters. It is capital moving the opposite way to the liquidation wave. Fund buyers were adding exposure precisely as leveraged longs were being closed out at a loss. This is our read, not a confirmed single cause. No one catalyst explains the exact timing, so treat the macro story as our interpretation of the chain, not a verified trigger.
Structurally, the distinction is everything. Forced sellers have no choice about price. Fund inflows are discretionary, slower, and patient. When patient money meets forced money, the forced side usually sets the low and the patient side eventually sets the recovery.
Whether that pattern holds this time is the open question. The inflows prove intent. They do not yet prove timing.
Inflows meet a market that keeps selling
Start with the liquidity picture, because it frames everything below it. BTC, ETH, SOL and HYPE funds shed almost 400 million dollars on the day. XRP funds, against that tide, took in 184 million.
That split is the story. Capital left the majors and a slice of it leaned into XRP weakness. It is a rotation of conviction, not a broad bid.
Bitcoin remains the anchor. BTC was trading near 81,972 dollars as of 06:16 UTC, up about 1.6 percent on the day. A steadier Bitcoin is the precondition for any alt to hold a dip, so the small BTC bounce helps the XRP buyers' case.
Ether offers the cautionary note. ETH funds were among the bleeders, which tells us institutional appetite for the second-largest asset was still draining. Alts do not usually bottom while ETH flows are negative.
Now the alt layer, where XRP lives. It fell roughly 16 percent from near 1.57 to about 1.32, broke two supports, and printed 1.31. The 184 million dollar inflow cushioned the fall but did not stop it.
That is the key tension for near-term price. Discretionary buyers are absorbing supply, yet the trend is still down. On balance the inflow is a bullish signal for XRP, because fresh capital at lower prices thins future supply. But absorbed supply is not the same as exhausted supply. Until the selling slows, these buyers are supporting price, not lifting it.
The 1.25 floor decides who was early
The cleanest confirmation is a hold. If XRP defends the 1.25 dollar area and reclaims 1.42, the inflow buyers were early, not wrong. That sequence would turn absorption into a genuine base.
Watch the pace of selling first, before the levels. A bounce on falling sell volume says the forced sellers are done. A bounce on thin, fading buying says it is a relief move inside a downtrend.
CVD (cumulative volume delta) is the tell here. Rising price with negative CVD means buyers are chasing while net flow still leans short. We want price stabilising with CVD turning up, not diverging.
Invalidation is just as clear. A decisive break and close below 1.25, then 1.17, would say the 184 million dollar bet is catching a falling knife rather than a bottom. At that point the inflows become trapped longs, not support.
OI (open interest) deserves a look too. If OI climbs while price grinds lower, new longs are stacking into weakness, which usually precedes another squeeze down, not up.
The macro calendar still rules the tape. Another soft data print or a weaker US equity open would pressure every risk asset again, XRP included, regardless of fund flows. So the hierarchy is: watch Bitcoin's footing near its own supports, watch XRP's reaction at 1.25, and watch whether selling volume shrinks. Those three, in that order, tell you if 184 million dollars found a floor or a trapdoor.
What $184 million against the trend signals
The ParadiseTeam frames this through a market that is still crowded with retail longs. Positive funding and repeated long liquidations describe a crowd that keeps buying dips and keeps getting squeezed. The 184 million dollar XRP inflow fits that behaviour pattern, not a confirmed reversal.
Context from the wider tape matters. With BTC near 81,972 dollars and sitting under its 90,000 dollar target but above its 78,000 dollar support, the majors are consolidating, not basing. Alts rarely bottom before Bitcoin settles, so XRP strength here is a bet that BTC holds.
That is the asymmetry the inflow buyers are pricing. XRP near 1.33, with support at 1.25 and 1.17 and recovery zones at 1.42 and 1.60, offers a defined R:R (risk-to-reward). A tight SL (stop-loss) below 1.17 against a reach for 1.42 is where the math gets interesting.
We stay cautious on the reasoning that drives our standing view. Bearish volume divergence on Bitcoin and crowded longs argue for more shakeout before clean upside. Fresh inflows into a falling asset can simply become the next liquidity pool for a squeeze. So the ParadiseTeam reads the 184 million as intent, not confirmation. Smart money accumulation shows up as absorption on falling volume at support, not as buying through every level on the way down.
Risk note: this is analysis, not a signal. Size small, define invalidation first, and let 1.25 prove itself before trusting the dip.
