Vueling Airlines to Accept Crypto As Payment

Vueling Airlines, a low-cost Spanish airline is currently on the path to integrating crypto payments into its means of payment for its services.

The information was revealed in a January 14 announcement after announcing the exploration of blockchain and NFT technologies to let patrons purchase the airline’s flight tickets using cryptocurrency.

As part of the process to realize the possibility, Vueling Airlines has partnered with a national exchange Criptan to serve as a payment company.

Once Vueling starts accepting crypto payments, the airline will be the first-ever low-cost airline to accept crypto as payments in the Euro zone. Per this, Jesus Monzo, Vueling’s alliances and distribution manager, stated:

“This agreement places us at the forefront of new technologies and innovation, further reinforcing our commitment to our customers and offering the best and most advanced tools and solutions on our website.”

Airlines’ crypto acceptance globally is on the rise, last year, Emirate Airlines announced that it is looking to accept crypto as payment for its services, also in October 2021, the Venezuelan government announced plans to start accepting crypto as payments for plane tickets.
