Jack Dorsey Exchanged Words with Robinhood CEO Over his Suggestions to Make Dogecoin the “Currency of Internet”

Share Post:

It was really an exciting weekend as Jack Dorsey was told to take a “doge pill” and accept the fact that Dogecoin is a Bitcoin with a dog on it. What actually led to this?

The CEO of Robinhood, Vladimir Tenev picked up his device wherever he was, and made a thread on Twitter about making Dogecoin a “future currency of the internet and the people?” where he highlighted many reasons for his suggestions. However, the thread received many positive responses from hundreds of comments till Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter and CEO of Square inc., took his device, read through the thread, and responded with “U thirsty?” which showed how unimpressed he was.

However, Jack‘s response didn’t take long before Tenev responded and asked if Jack was insane? “U mad?” he responded. Jack’s response was like he had been waiting for Tenev to respond when he responded with, “Nah I’m good I don’t use Robinhood.”

Following Jack’s response, there was many comments where people asked Jack about his issue with Dogecoin despite some benefits it has for transactions.

It was some minutes later that Shibetoshi Nakomoto, the creator of Dogecoin, advised Jack to take a doge pill sometime, stating that it was a Bitcoin with a dog on it.

Tenev Reasons for more adoption of Dogecoin

Last weekend, the CEO of Robinhood on Twitter suggested to Dogecoin developers how the coin could become the future currency.

According to him, the meme coin developers need to focus on improving the speed of sending and receiving Dogecoin during transactions; he said in his tweet that the block size needs to be increased to at least 1 GB and subsequent boosting to 10 GB in the near future, he also furthered that the developers need to reduce the cost of transactions using Doge which should facilitate more adoption of the meme coin.

However, the thread has received supports from the likes of Elon Musk and Shibetoshi Nakomoto, who have been known to have strong affiliations for Dogecoin, unlike Jack, who has been a staunch supporter of Bitcoin for a long time; in fact, he has sponsored meaningful research that will foster the growth of the largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Do you think Dogecoin may actually be the currency of the future? Do you think the crypto community will witness Dogecoin adoption more than we ever imagined? Kindly comment below to express your views.
