According to prominent whistleblower Edward Snowden, people are buying SHIB because a meme said they would get rich. He urges the people to consider the odds of outsmarting a market that sold them its stake in not even dog money but a clone of dog money.
The Shiba Inu mania is claiming enormous profits for investors. The coin’s price is surging by over 100% weekly. Earlier this week, meme coin Shiba Inu surged by over 850%. It even surpassed its rival Dogecoin to become the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
Recently, news broke out of an $8,000 investment in SHIB that turned to $5.7 billion. Such awe-inspiring stories fueled the Shiba Inu frenzy some more.
While investment in SHIB seems very attractive, former NSA agent consultant Edward Snowden believes the chances of outsmarting the market and gaining these profits to be meager.
In a follow-up tweet, Shiba Inu critic Snowden encourages those who want to buy the meme coin to do so. He states, “People can buy any garbage they want and I’m okay with it.” He continues to warn that it would be okay to “drop some happy meals” to buy SHIB. However, the problem arises when people decide to mortgage “the farm” or use the rent money to invest in the meme cryptocurrency.
Invest in Bitcoin, Not SHIB
While he stands against Shiba Inu, prominent whistleblower Edward Snowden, on the contrary, is a huge Bitcoin supporter. Snowden expressed his support for El Salvador’s decision to grant the leading cryptocurrency legal tender.
Snowden urges people to invest in Bitcoin, claiming that latecomers may regret hesitating. Clearly, former NSA agent consultant Edward Snowden does not feel the same about the new power meme coin Shiba Inu.
