United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) announced the recruitment of three new staff members to its team on Monday on Monday.
CFTC commissioner Summer Mersinger made the declaration on May 16th 2022. Chris Lucas holds the Chief of Staff and Counsel position, Terry Arbit and Elizabeth Mastrogiacomo will serve as the Senior Counsel.
At such a critical moment for the CTFC, Mersinger welcomes the three to his team. With their unmatched level of expertise, they will be an invaluable asset as CTFC works to promote integrity and innovations in the U.S. markets.
Before this prestigious appointment, Chris Lucas worked as the Co-Head for U.S. Government affairs. Prior to this, he has served in the Senate in a variety of capacities. He has a B.A. from the University of Rochester and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Terry Arbit has amassed 17 years of experience from working with the agency from 1996to 2013. Throughout his reign in the CFTC, he has served as the Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. Terry holds a joint M.A. and B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Chicago Law School.
Elizabeth Mostrogiacomo joins commissioner Mersinger’s office after most recently serving in Senior Counsel positions to former Commissioner Stump. In her previous role, she advised the commissioner on rulemakings, enforcement actions, examinations and legal issues. She holds a B.B.A. from the College of William and Mary and a J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
In addition to the trio, the CFTC announced that Bruce Fekrat will serve in the capacity of the Chief Counsel. Natasha Robinson Coates and Lilian Cardona will serve as interim members of the senior counsels
