Christine Moy, JPMorgan’s top blockchain executive, is leaving the firm. According to an internal memo, Moy is leaving her position as the global head of JPMorgan’s blockchain product Liink to pursue an external opportunity.

The internal memo from the firm’s head of Onyx Umar Farooq revealed that Moy would be replaced by Sushil Raja, the most recent Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy of Onyx. Before coming to investment bank JPMorgan, Raja served as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, advising financial technology firms.
Moy has worked at the Wall Street megabank JPMorgan for 18 years. JPMorgan’s top blockchain executive played a significant role in launching its blockchain unit Onyx in 2020. The internal memo stated that Moy was instrumental in building and leading JPMorgan’s blockchain program since 2015 when the team consisted of fewer than five people.
During her time, Christine Moy organized JPMorgan’s first Crypto Economy Forum and was also involved in issuing the bank’s first NFTs. Moy also advocated for the Wall Street megabank JPMorgan to bank crypto companies like Coinbase and Gemini.
Moy earned the title of global head of metaverse while in the Onyx team. She spearheaded JPMorgan’s presence in the metaverse by setting up a lounge to the bank in Decentraland.

Christine Moy confirmed the news on her LinkedIn account. JPMorgan’s top blockchain executive thanked Umar Farooq, Takis Georgakopoulos, and many others, who empowered her to take risks, experiment, take long shots, and build an authentic team culture.
After listing her accomplishments at investment bank JPMorgan, she signed off with “#wgmi.” The term means “we’re gonna make it,” and is popular in the crypto community. The community speculates that although Moy has not revealed the external opportunity, it could probably be crypto-related, considering the sign-off.
