The American Business Intelligence, mobile software and cloud-based service company MicroStrategy has announced the purchase of 2,500 Bitcoins, and currently, the company is holding about 132,500 Bitcoins.

MicroStrategy Now Holds 132,500 Bitcoins

According to the release on Wednesday, December 28, MicroStrategy has been holding 130,000 Bitcoins till October 31, 2022, however, Bitcoin purchase since that time has added 2,500 Bitcoins to MicroStrategy’s holdings.

However, between November 1, and December 21, 2022, Microstrategy through its subsidiary MacroStrategy LCC bought approximately 2,395 Bitcoins for roughly $42.8 million in cash at an average BTC price of $17,871, the document stated.

Further to this, the company sold on December 22, 2022 704 Bitcoins for cash proceeds of roughly 11.8 million at an average BTC rate of $16,776.

As part of the plans to carry back the capital losses incurred from the transactions against capital gains, the company on December 24, 2022, purchased roughly 810 Bitcoins for about $13.6 million in cash at an average Bitcoin price of $16,845.

The effect of the above transaction showed that Microstrategy has upped its Bitcoin holding to 13,500, adding 2,500 Bitcoins.

“After giving effect to the transactions described above, MicroStrategy, together with its subsidiaries, increased its bitcoin holdings by 2,500 bitcoins, from approximately 130,000 bitcoins as of October 31, 2022, to approximately 132,500 bitcoins as of December 27, 2022. The approximately 132,500 bitcoins held by MicroStrategy and its subsidiaries as of December 27, 2022 were acquired at an aggregate purchase price of approximately

$4.03 billion and an average purchase price of approximately $30,397 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses,” the document stated.
