Tether Partners With SmartPay to Launch 24,000 ATMs in Brazil

Hong Kong-based crypto firm has announced a partnership with a FinTech firm SmartPay to make USDT available in 24,000 ATMs throughout Brazil.

Crypto adoption across different regions of the world is on the rise, this is why many financial firms are leveraging it to offer services that will make crypto easy to spend like fiat currencies.

Through official press on Thursday, Tether announced that it will make USDT available for easy spending across Brazil.

According to the release, the FinTech firm SmartPay will be handling the integration to ensure seamless access to Brazilians, and this innovation is geared toward making financial technology accessible to Brazilians through digital currencies.

After the launch of the ATMs on November 3, Brazillains citizens can choose Tether’s USDT among other cryptocurrencies for whatever use across the 24,0000 ATMs.

“Adding tether tokens to ATMs across Brazil provides the opportunity to include more people in the financial system. This will bring major changes not only to the payments industry but to the entire Brazilian financial ecosystem,” Paulo Ardonio, Chief Technology Officer at Tether, noted while speaking on the development.

USDT is the largest stablecoin in the crypto market with a market cap of $68.5 billion, it is also the third largest cryptocurrency by market cap, only below Bitcoin and Ethereum.
