On Tuesday, a new indictment revealed that the former CEO of the bankrupt FTX exchange bribed Chinese government officials $40 million to illegally move crypto from wallets frozen by the Chinese government.
The above indictment brought the total count charges against Sam Bankman-Fried to 13, however, in a Thursday court hearing, the former CEO of FTX pleaded “not guilty” to the charges, including other illegal political campaign donations, money laundering, bank fraud, as well as operation of unlicensed money, all these charges, if eventually found guilty, may see him sentenced to more than 40 years imprisonment.
Several count charges have been revealed against the former FTX CEO since his arrest in the Bahamas in December, most of which his associates including Caroline Ellison of Alameda Research have pleaded guilty.
On March 29, SBF was accused of trying to influence witnesses, an allegation that left him with no choice but to agree to new restrictive terms for his bail.
