São Paulo, a Brazilian football club, announced on May 26 that it would include cryptocurrency as part of payment options for tickets from fans, a payment method to be enabled by the Bitso exchange.
However, a crypto payment option will be available for every ticket to games hosted at home by São Paulo, be it Morumbi or another stadium.
Eduardo Toni, the executive marketing director for São Paulo, said offering more payment options to fans is a crucial step towards modernizing Morumbi stadium and making cryptocurrency more accessible for everyone.
He said:

Furthermore, the crypto payment option is exclusive to registered supporters who have already received their membership cards.
In order to pay for a ticket with cryptocurrency, registered fans will have two options; they may use the usual payment method on the Total Acesso website or use the Bitso app but they must first register on the exchange as a customer; the cryptocurrency exchange, Bitso is also one of the club’s official sponsors.
