XRP Trading Reinstated on Coinbase and Kraken Following Court Ruling

Crypto exchanges Coinbase and Kraken have reinstated XRP trading for their US customers following a court ruling that XRP is not a security. The relisting of XRP by these exchanges has been met with a surge in the token’s price. Gemini, another crypto exchange, is also considering the possibility of relisting XRP for both spot and derivatives trading.

The decision to relist XRP comes after a US court ruled in favor of Ripple, the company behind XRP, in a lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC had alleged that XRP was a security, but the court found that XRP did not meet the definition of a security according to SEC guidelines.

This court ruling has provided much-needed regulatory clarity for the crypto industry and has removed a major source of uncertainty for XRP. However, Coinbase has cautioned that XRP trading may still be restricted in some jurisdictions.

The relisting of XRP by Coinbase and Kraken is a significant victory for Ripple, which has long argued that XRP is a legitimate cryptocurrency and not subject to SEC regulation. The court’s decision has also been welcomed by the wider crypto industry, as it provides guidance on the legal status of cryptocurrencies.

The relisting of XRP is expected to boost liquidity and trading volume for the token, and could also lead to increased interest in XRP among institutional investors. However, investors are advised to be aware of the potential for significant price fluctuations in XRP.
