Fidelity to Extend its Crypto Push
As per a report by Bloomberg on October 22, a Fidelity representative said the financial giant has started a new round of hiring that will up Fidelity Digital Assets workforce to 500 people.
This recent move by Fidelity is likely to be an indication that the investment firm is looking to utilize the current lay-off in the crypto market as a result of the prolonged crypto winter and it also shows Fidelity long-term plans for cryptocurrencies.
Fidelity Investments is a financial giant which boasts about $4.5 trillion worth of assets. Back in 2018, it launched its dedicated crypto unit for Wall Street customers.
In September, Fidelity announced that it will move ahead with plans to offer the option to invest in cryptocurrency on some employer-sponsored retirement plans despite opposition from U.S. legislators and the Department of Labor, which oversees 401(k) plans.
