In such cases, these third parties request a chain swap.

This isn’t Tether’s first rodeo, though. It’s their second billion-dollar USDT mint in less than two months. But don’t get it twisted, these minted USDT tokens are “authorized but not issued,” meaning they’re not part of Tether’s total market capitalization.

As of now, Tether remains the king of the hill, being the largest stablecoin issuer on all blockchains. Their current total supply stands at a whopping 83 billion tokens.
