Former Facebook spokesperson Randi Zuckerberg has recognized meme coin Shiba Inu’s breakthrough to mainstream in her recent YouTube video.
Randi, who is also Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s sister, revealed her thoughts in a video titled, “What are meme coins in crypto?” The Zuckerberg Media CEO highlighted that meme coins Dogecoin and Shiba Inu were flourishing.
Meme Coins Bring the Fun in Crypto
According to Randi, the meme coins came about to bring fun into crypto that was dominated by the big coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Started as jokes, Doge and SHIB have flourished to become big players in the crypto community.
Of the canine tokens Dogecoin came in first and garnered its fair share of attention. Then came meme coin Shiba Inu, meant to be the Dogecoin killer. Randi shares that SHIB earned its title as the Dogecoin killer because it was expected that there was room for only one meme coin.
Randi states she did not know that there will be room for any meme coin in the crypto industry. But to her disbelief, there are now two of them. Additionally, because of Dogecoin killer SHIB’s success and its breakthrough into the mainstream, a bunch of other meme tokens carrying the dog breed image arose.
Randi mentions the Shiba Inu Girlfriend coin ($SHIBGF) and Dogelon Mars coin as an example of the canine tokens that came after SHIB and Doge. She encourages her viewers to use these coins to have fun with crypto.
Have Fun, But Be Smart and Savvy
Despite the fun they bring, Randi finishes by warning people not to put their entire life savings of these canine tokens. Instead, she advises having a portfolio of coins and practicing dollar-cost averaging.
In dollar-cost averaging, an investor invests in one coin for a long period. In this case, the investor would have bought the coin at an averaged-out price.
Randi concludes by telling the viewers to have some fun with their crypto but, also be smart and savvy.
