A new Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse partnership will see the access of crypto payments to over 85,000 merchants in Switzerland.
The crypto payments feature will be enabled on the Worldline network for Swiss merchants through an omnichannel crypto payments solution that was born from this partnership with Bitcoin Suisse.
Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are the Accepted Crypto
France-based payments and transactional services company Worldline and Zug-based crypto-financial service provider Bitcoin Suisse have officially launched this service after running a short pilot program in 2019.
Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are the choices of cryptocurrencies selected for the Worldline-Bitcoin Suisse crypto payments service. Swiss merchants with access to Worldline’s point-of-sale and e-commerce payments services can now offer clients these two cryptocurrencies alongside traditional payment methods.
For merchants to access the Worldline-Bitcoin Suisse crypto payments service, they will have to download the WL Crypto Payments mobile app. The Worldline payment plugin can also work as an alternative, where users can install it for their online shops. The WL Crypto Payments mobile app will be able to display prices in either BTC or ETH as soon as the client selects the choice of coin.
Volatility-Proof System
While crypto payments are embraced as offering convenience to the payer, there is always the concern of how the coins’ volatility might affect the payee. The Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse partnership was keen to address this concern.
When the client makes a payment, the merchant receives instant confirmation of the transaction. The Swiss merchants are protected from exposure to market volatility by immediate conversion of the cryptocurrency used as payments to Swiss francs.
The MD of Worldline Switzerland Marc Schluep commented on the Worldline-Bitcoin Suisse crypto payments service. He stated that it was accomplishing the company’s goal of bringing “tangible value to merchants across the globe and facilitate smooth and modern payments in all the markets.”
Bitcoin Suisse’s CEO Dr. Arthur Vayloyan, on the other hand, called the Worldline-Bitcoin Suisse collaboration a “historic milestone for crypto adoption in Switzerland and beyond.”
