Hong Kong’s largest bank, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) has launched crypto trading services in Hong Kong, according to a Monday report by Colin Wu.

According to the report, HSBC clients can now purchase and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs listed on the Hong Kong exchange, marking the first bank in Hong Kong to offer the services to customers.

Thus far, the crypto ETFs listed in Hong Kong include CSOP Bitcoin Futures ETF, CSOP Ethereum Futures ETF, and Samsung Bitcoin Futures Active ETF.

Additionally, HSBC also launched a Virtual Asset Investor Education Centre to allow individuals who are looking to invest in digital assets to access information about the risks and benefits associated with Virtual Assets before they invest in HSBC virtual assets-related products.

As of March last year, data showed that HSBC has about 1.7 million active clients.

This news comes shortly after reports surfaced that the Hong Kong financial watchdog is pressuring prominent financial institutions to accept crypto exchanges as customers.
