Former Facebook executive, Kate Rouch, has joined cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase as its Chief Marketing Officer.
Facebook’s Kate Rouch Bringing Her Expertise to Coinbase
New Coinbase CMO Kate Rouch’s last position on Facebook was the Global Head of Brand and Product Marketing. Rouch worked at Facebook for over a decade. Facebook’s Kate Rouch oversaw the marketing for major products of the social media platform such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook app. Additionally, she was in charge of marketing the entire Facebook platform at large.
During Rouch’s time as the head of marketing at Facebook, the social media platform experienced an increase in the number of monthly active users from 500 million to around 3 billion worldwide.
Popular crypto exchange Coinbase is hiring Rouch conveniently at a time when its brand came under attack. Allegedly, hackers were draining users’ accounts. Upon noticing the disappearance of their accounts, Coinbase’s users claim they were consequently met with terrible customer service from the exchange’s team.
Former Facebook exec Kate Rouch is probably joining Coinbase to help clear its image. According to Coinbase’s Chief Operating Officer Emilie Choi, Rouch will oversee the exchange’s global brand, product, and performance marketing.
