From luxury stores to aviation, sports, and other notable businesses across the globe, Bitcoin is increasingly becoming a major player in their financial system, and now, it is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the health sector.

Per a report by local media, Rolante Hospital Foundation, a Brazilian hospital has made history after becoming the first hospital to accept crypto as a form of payment in Brazil.

Apart from the above-mentioned hospital, more than 100 businesses in the Rolante City of Brazil are already accepting Bitcoin as payment, putting the city at the centre of Bitcoin adoption on the global map.

Bitcoin Adoption in Brazil

Speaking of Bitcoin adoption, the Latin America region remains one of the notable regions of the world that adopt crypto payments in businesses.

In São Paulo, the capital city of Brazil, there are over 270 businesses that accept crypto as payments, making the city the centre of crypto adoption in the country.

There are other cities with a notable level of crypto adoption in Brazil, Aracaju and the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro have 60 and 58 locations accepting Bitcoin as payments.

Also in February, the oldest bank in Brazil announced that taxes can now be paid in crypto.

MasterCard in January joined forces with the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance to launch Bitcoin reward cards in Brazil.

Brazil looks attractive to crypto because of a more friendly government of the country. In December, the country’s president signed the crypto regulation bills into law after being passed by lawmakers.
